The actions we take today assure the generations to come
To ensure there is a future for coffee culture, Cooxupé developed the “Gerações” Protocol – a tool for continuous improvement on the path to sustainability that is subdivided into four levels of environmental, social and economic evaluation.
Gerações was thought to take into consideration the molds of Brazilian coffee farming and is based on the premise of being an inclusive protocol. Cooxupé counts on well-trained team of specialists available to give all the necessary support to the cooperative members so they can adjust their practices and thus meet all the requirements listed in the protocol.
The idea is to provide coffees that, besides having quality in the cup, are aligned with an ethical point of view and in harmony with the environment and the communities. The longevity of coffee farming depends on our conscious and responsible actions.
MOTIVATING THE LEADERSHIP AND INCLUSION OF SMALL PRODUCERS INTO THE COFFEE CHAIN THROUGH SUSTAINABLE COOPERATIVISM
Cooperativism itself is a sustainable model: it’s made by people for people and allows the inclusion of small producers who become protagonists in the coffee chain. We want to extend to everyone who is part of this collective the opportunity to lead changes and innovations.
As an esurance of transparency and credibility through processes, the cooperative and its members will be regularly visited and submitted to a third-party verification to validate the adherence and evolution of the producers according to the different levels of sustainability, as well as to verify the engagement of Cooxupé in supporting its members.
